AT TINAKPAN NG DIYOS ANG KAHUBARAN NI EBA’T ADAN
(And the LORD covered the nudity of Adam & Eve)
#manilaXperiences

My Manila experiences shocks me to the point it shames me.  Ladies here, young children and even old women, had little coverings in their bodies.  Kasi uso?  Even how they called the pair of shorts “pekpek shorts” was so humiliating.

When God created Adam and Eve, God said, “It was very good!”  Meaning He created them “very good” – without blemish that even their nudity didn’t discomfort them: “And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed” (Genesis 2:25). Not until man fell into sin as Genesis 3 accounted.

Man had a close and sweet fellowship with the Lord but the devil (in the form of the serpent) enticed Eve by disobeying God – eating of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil – the fruit or the tree per se is not bad at all BUT the smallest disobedience led them to sin: Genesis 3:6 “When the woman saw the tree was good for food, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise (emphasis mine), she took from its fruit and ate, and SHE GAVE ALSO TO HER HUSBAND WHO WAS WITH HER (emphasis mine).”  Eve responded to the enticement of the devil, a “look” that led to her heart to be delighted and the sad part was Adam was with her but never took authority over his wife.  On the succeeding verses 7-11, Adam and Eve now known nudity with shame – it’s not their nudity that makes them afraid of God that caused them to hid from God, “(Man said) I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I WAS AFRAID BECAUSE I WAS NAKED (emphasis mine), so hid myself.” – but the knowledge that God knew already their sin.

Despite of the heartaches and heartbreaks of God of His creation – man’s disobedience – still God took notice of their need when He saw man’s coverings was made of sewed fig leaves, a covering that will not last even for a day.  So the Lord made garments of skin (Genesis 3:21) meaning there was already a sacrifice made and blood of an animal was shed for the temporary coverings of man.

Until Jesus Christ Himself shed His own blood so that when we believe and accepted Him in our lives a permanent removal of our nudity, our shame, our sins will be blotted away – “Without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22).”

So why then Christians as we claim we continue to display our nudity, as if we are no different from this world.  Worst we even share the same disgrace with our daughters.  The son of Noah - Ham - was cursed because he saw the nakedness of his father and it led to Ham's children (nation Canaan) demise (Genesis 9:22-25).

Now I challenged you, lady as you are and Christian as you claimed, DRESS MODESTLY! You were bought with a precious blood of Christ (I Peter 1:18-19).  So then – dress to honor and glorify God, dress as a child of the living God  – not as the devil’s advocate!
